Ok, so met my bike coach tonite for a bike workut. It was very tough- do not be fooled by the times and distances. We did sprint workouts and 3 miles IN THE GRASS. It hurts, people. My coach is some kind of masochist. But I will say, the grass workouts are effective for leg strength. I read that Carmichael has his team do them. All I can say is, ouch. Recovery tonite is crucial.

Ok, so I’ve been bored with running and I am going to start a streak to shake things up. I plan to run every day for 20 days with no day off. I will not run HARD every day, but I will promise myself to run every day. Today is day 1!!!

Two glasses of wine, four hours of sleep and 90% humidity do not add up to a good long run. Hey- I went out to dinner and had a great time… it was late before I knew it!! I thought I could slog through the run, and I did okay for five miles, but then I just ran out of juice. I switched to more walking and ran intermittently. The humidity was ridiculously high and there was not a breath of breeze, even at the beach, which is unusual. Fortunately, my friend stayed with me along the way. After the run, a big thunderstorm rolled in, which explains the humidity. I lost 3+ lbs in water, which is high, even for me. I STILL feel dehydrated.
Day off tomorrow. Whew.

Difficult sprint workout today consisting of bike, then run sprints, then bike sprints, then a large bridge 2x. I was totally wiped out. But, it was a beautiful morning, despite tons of sweat. I was actually panting at one point. That is not good- I never do that. And I hit my “max”heart rate twice. I don’t think I’ve even done that before, either. Gotta rest up for long run tomorrow.

So, I did 20 minutes on tready, followed by fairly heavy chest, back and leg workout. Always a good thing. I feel good, all ready for a heavy weekend. Bring it on! Bike, Swim, Run, Repeat! Woo-hoo!
Oh yeah- My YMCA now has a Triathlon training program, culminating in a Sprint tri in September. I am debating how much this would help me. It may help me get in the pool more than I do now. I am thinking it over… Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Last night, I had a good workout w/ my bike coach. It was bike/run/bike. Few miles on the bike to warm up, 1 1/2 miles running in the grass, intervals, then moderate sprints on the bike. I felt pretty good, overall. I did not run well, and I feel really heavy. I lost two pound last week, but I still have alot to go. Oh well. It was a beautiful evening to be outside, though and I enjoyed the workout.
